Opened on March 2, 2025, inside the innovative 100bikes Kyoto space near Omiya Station, this café operates on a shared schedule: some days as Hi Mate (instagram.com/himate_coffee) with Erina (instagram.com/erina_804) behind the counter, and on others as Liffee Coffee led by Yukina. Erina, who honed her skills at Blue Bottle Chayamachi and Rokkaku, met bike shop owner Miyamoto-san during that time, which sparked the collaboration that brought the two cafés together. The name Hi Mate reflects a friendly Australian greeting, embodying the café’s spirit of openness and its inspiration from Australian coffee culture.

The interior pairs a polished garage-house feel with bicycle displays and eat-in seating, creating an energetic, welcoming atmosphere. Outside, the design is casual yet refined, blending smoothly with the neighborhood’s modern vibe. Beyond its coffee program, Hi Mate doubles as a cultural hub for cyclists, combining specialty coffee with bike rentals in a uniquely lively setting.

Its menu delivers a slice of the Australian café experience with espresso staples such as flat whites, long blacks, and mochas, along with food like the hearty Hot sandwich, BLT Sandwich, Toast or baked sweets. Other drinks include the Banana smoothie, Strawberry Matcha smoothie, Aussie teas and even Australian craft beer.

2025年3月2日、大宮駅近くの「100bikes Kyoto」店内に新しいカフェがオープンしました。このお店はちょっとユニークで、営業日によって担当が変わります。ある日はErinaさん（http://instagram.com/erina_804）がカウンターに立ち「Hi Mate」（instagram.com/himate_coffee） として、別の日はYukinaさんが「Liffee Coffee」として営業しています。ErinaさんはBlue Bottle ChayamachiやRokkakuで経験を積み、そのときに自転車店オーナーの宮本さんと出会ったことが、このコラボにつながりました。店名「Hi Mate」はオーストラリアのフレンドリーなあいさつから来ていて、気さくでオープンな雰囲気を大切にしています。

店内はガレージハウス風のスタイリッシュな空間で、自転車の展示とイートイン席が並び、明るくにぎやかな雰囲気。外観はカジュアルだけど洗練されていて、街の景色にも自然に溶け込んでいます。コーヒーを楽しむ場所であると同時に、サイクリストの拠点にもなっていて、スペシャルティコーヒーと自転車レンタルを組み合わせたユニークなスタイルです。
