Welcome to "Yoshihara" (instagram.com/yoshihara.coffee), a stylish café that opened on December 25, 2023, in central Kyoto. Situated in a peaceful residential area, just a 10-minute walk from either Tozai Line - Nijo Station (exit 1) or Nijojo-mae Station (exit 1). Yoshihara is the brainchild of a lovely young couple, Kosuke and Haruna, named after their shared surname. Kosuke brings five years of roasting experience from Kurasu café near Kyoto station, while Haruna honed her skills at the renowned vegan café, Veg Out, near Shichijo Station. Together, they've created Yoshihara, focusing on exquisite coffee and homemade scones.

The café is nestled within a renovated kyomachiya, once a traditional house, redesigned by Muramatsu Hidekazu Design (instagram.com/h.m_de), known for their work on Ha Ra, Nishitomiya, Yim Coffee & Crafts, and Brown Eyes Coffee. Although the renovation involved mostly demolishing the interior, key elements of the original kyomachiya, such as mud walls, flooring, and remnants of the old woodwork, including the expansive sliding doors of the cabinets and the wooden framework, were preserved.

The front part of the building underwent partial demolition to create an open canopy, leaving only the entrance area roofed to allow ample light into the café. Replacing the facade are expansive windows that offer a panoramic view of the stylish interior. Upon entry, the spacious kitchen and order counter greet you to the right, while a long bench along the cabinets at the rear provides seating for customers.

The interior boasts a minimalist contemporary design combined with the retro elements of the kyomachiya, creating a refined, spacious atmosphere. One notable feature is the art piece 'NyoroNyoroBou' by 'Itou' (instagram.com/itou.uoti).

The menu is simple yet refined and emphasizes specialty coffee and homemade scones. These delicious scones are served with red bean paste and butter. The café offers various coffee selections but also prides itself on selling their own roasted beans. The coffee is delicious, with a subtle, smooth taste. Paired with the sweet scone, it makes a perfect combination.

Yoshihara is a wonderful cafe run by a super friendly couple that sells delicious coffee and scones in a stylish, relaxing atmosphere and a visit is heavily recommended.

京都中心に、2023年12月25日にオープンしたスタイリッシュなカフェYoshihara 「よしはら」 instagram.com/yoshihara.coffee へようこそ！東西線二条駅「1番出口」や二条城前駅「1番出口」から徒歩で10分に、閑静の住宅街に位置してます。Yoshiharaは素敵な若い夫婦「コウスケさんとハルナさん」に営まれて、姓にちなんで名付けられました。コウスケさんは以前、京都駅近くの有名なカフェ「クラス」で5年以上ロースターとして勤務し、ハルナさんは有名なビーガンカフェ「Veg Out」で働いていました。Yoshiharaでは、二人のスキルを活かし、洗練されたコーヒーと自家製のスコーンを提供しています。

Yoshiharaカフェはリノベーションされた京町家カフェであり、Ha Ra, Nishitomiya, Yim Coffee&CraftsとBrown Eyes Coffeeなどもリノベーションをした Muramatsu Hidekazu Design (instagram.com/h.m_de)がYoshiharaもリノベーションしました。リノベーションにより内装のほとんどが取り除かれましたが、土壁や床、大きな引き戸、箪笥の木製枠など、元の要素は残されていました。

建物の正面部分は部分的に取り壊され、オープンキャノピーが作られ、カフェに十分な光が入るように入り口エリアのみに屋根が付けられました。 さらに、スタイリッシュなインテリアのパノラマビューがある大きなガラス窓がファサードになっています。 店内に入ると広々してスペースが広がり、右側に広いキッチンとオーダーカウンターがあり、お店の奥にのキャビネットに沿った長いベンチが設置されていました。インテリアはミニマルでモダンなデザインが特徴で、京町家のレトロな要素で洗練されながら広々とした空間になっています。 入口の近くに「いとう」さんのアート作品「にょろにょろ棒」（instagram.com/itou.uoti）が展示されています。

メニューはシンプルで洗練され、特にスペシャルティコーヒーや手作りのスコーンを大切にしています。スコーンはあんことバターでサンドイッチされており、とても美味しいです。さらに、さまざまな種類のコーヒーが楽しめ、自家焙煎豆も販売されています。 コーヒーは繊細で滑らかな味わいで、甘いスコーンと一緒に飲むと最高の組み合わせです。

Yoshiharaはとても素敵な夫婦に営まれて、スタイリッシュな空間で美味しいコーヒーとスコーンがエンジョイできる、とてもおすすめなカフェです。
