Totaro's entrance consisting of traditional glass in wood doors can slide open completely, revealing the cafe's stylish interior. The minimalist decor is in perfect harmony with the traditional features of the machiya, creating a unique and inviting space.

Besides coffee matcha is one of the main drinks at Totaro, and it's not hard to see why. The cafe serves some of the best matcha in town, prepared by skilled baristas who take great care in every cup. 2023年3月25日にオープンした「糖太朗」『とうたろう』は五条駅から徒歩で約5分にあるリノベーションされたおしゃれな町家カフェです。風化されている外観はほぼそのまま残されて、店内はキッチンとカフェエリアだけ改装されてキッチンにはおしゃれなマーブルカウンター天板でカフェスペースはシンプルでカウンターが二つしかない。

入口は町家の伝統的なガラスとウッドの引き戸で構成されて、全部開けると外からおしゃれな店内が全体見えます。お店は入りやすくて、車椅子の方もこのカフェがエンジョイできます。インテリアはモダンと和風の組み合わせでとてもスタイリッシュです。

メニューにはコーヒーと抹茶、又は美味しそうな日本のスイーツがメインです。オーダーしてからスタッフが全部目の前に丁寧に用意してくれます。
