Opened on 12 April 2025 is Haim Coffee (instagram.com/haim_coffee_salon), nestled in Osaka’s Nishitanabe area on a short walk from Midosuji Line - Nishitanabe Station. The café sits a long a quiet street on the bottom floor of a large manshion just parallel to Abiko-suji, making it easy accessible. Haim Coffee operates as both a café and a private hair salon, seamlessly blending a space for enjoying specialty coffee and baked treats with a hair salon run by the owner’s wife. The name "Haim" comes from the German word for "home," which perfectly captures the feeling this establishment evokes.
The interior design has been done by the masters of Transform Inc, (who also did Common and Ue). Stepping inside, guests are greeted by an interior that strikes a balance between cool minimalism and the warmth of natural materials. The design is both stylish and inviting, with a clean, modern aesthetic softened by gentle wooden touches, an atmosphere that feels both fresh and comforting. The main point of attraction, aside from the dual café-salon setup, is the sense of community and hospitality the owners foster; regulars and newcomers alike are welcomed as if returning to a hometown haven. The shop’s philosophy centers on providing not just good coffee, but a place where people can feel at home and cared for.
The menu at Haim Coffee focuses on expertly brewed coffee made with beans from the renowned Yuge Roastery in Nishinomiya, ensuring every cup is rich and aromatic. Alongside the coffee, the café offers a selection of baked goods, with the carrot cake, spiced with cinnamon, being the standout signature item and a must-try for first-time visitors. The menu is thoughtfully curated, favoring quality over quantity, and is perfect for anyone seeking a satisfying treat with their drink. Whether you’re in for a quick caffeine fix or a leisurely afternoon snack, Haim Coffee’s offerings are sure to please.
Haim Coffee is a wonderful addition to the Nishitanabe neighborhood, successfully combining the best of café culture with the personal touch of a boutique salon. Its stylish yet approachable interior, excellent coffee, and standout baked goods make it a spot worth visiting, whether you're a local or just passing through. The owners are incredibly friendly, adding to the warm atmosphere that makes every visit feel special. For those seeking a new favorite café with a heartfelt sense of community, Haim Coffee is not to be missed.
