One of the bigger and well known coffee chain brands in Kyoto is without a doubt "Drip & Drop Coffee Supply". The chain has a few shops allover Kyoto and even one in Hyogo's Kinosaki area. The Ginkakuji branch is located on a short walk from the World heritage site Ginkakuji (SIlver pavilion) and the famous Philisophers path on the corner along the Shirakawa road. It sits on the ground floor and stands out with its matte black exterior that has COFFEE written in big white letters on the corner wall. The coffee stand has a welcoming open façade with the coffee counter right along the sidewalk, making it easy for curious visitors to enter.

The coffee here has a various custimization options that starts with choosing the desired blend (strong, original, spring or single origin) and then the brewing method (French press, Paper Drip or Aeropress). For espresso based coffee the menu includes cafe latte (580 yen), americano or caramel latte that can also be customized (soy milk, oat milk, extra shot, whip or ice cream) for an additional charge. For people who are not into coffee, the stand also offers matcha latte, lemonade, tea soda or heartland beer. For those that would like to have a small bite, the menu also offers hot dogs or today's cookie.
