‘OSORA cafe’ which literally means ‘Sky cafe’ is located smack-dab in the middle of Minamikata, and feels quite out of place in a town mostly famous for it’s nightlife entertainment and izakayas (Japanese bars).

The cafe is located in a corner building on a one minute walking distance from either Minamikata or Nishinakajima Minamikata station and stands out from the surrounding area with it’s white cafe style exterior covered with words like: “coffee, drinks, lunch etc” in big black letters.

The cute little entrance welcomes you to a spacious interior consisting mostly of antique wooden furniture, comfortable ‘highschool’ chairs and fairly big windows. The bottom part of the windows are made from ribbed glass which let in all the light but still gives you the privacy from outside. The light bouncing on the wooden furniture creates a warm atmosphere even if it’s raining outside.

The interior consists of a couple of table seats, a few counter seats and one booth that can be used for groups up to 4/5 people.

While OSORA Cafe has a pretty diverse menu, it is mostly famous for it’s Strawberry toast, and deservedly so. The Strawberry toast is stylishly placed on a dark wooden ‘cutting’ board covered with powdered sugar and ice-cream on top. The plates doesn’t only look gorgeous, it also tastes fantastic. So if you like sweets and strawberries you are in for a treat.

ナイトライフで有名な南方と違うイメージする「オソラカフェ」が御堂筋線西中島南方駅と阪急線南方駅から徒歩1分ぐらいにあります。割と大きな窓と黒文字に書かれてる白いエクステリアで結構目立ています。

素敵なウッド製の入り口を入ると広いカフェのスペースがあります。インテリアは入り口と同じようなスタイルでウッド家具でレトロなスタイルがします。インテリアはウッドの家具、高校生の椅子と割と大きな窓で構成してますがこぢんまりとしたカフェです。窓の下の半分がリブ付きのガラスになってますから、日光が窓から差し込んでる同時に外から見られないのでプライバシーがありますし雨が降ってる日にもカフェの中にとても暖かい雰囲気が出てます。

オソラカフェのメニューには様々な食べ物がありますが、メインは大人気の苺トーストです。苺トーストは粉砂糖にかかれて、ウッドのまな板みたいのプレートの上に乗せています。苺の上にバニラアイスクリームが乗ってます。見た目はとてもスタイリッシュですが味はものすごく美味しいです。スイーツや苺が好きな方にとって絶対おすすめです。
