"Usagitoboku", meaning 'Rabbit and I,' is a charming café nestled in Osaka's Showacho area. Set within a Nagaya building with a storied past, this establishment once housed a laundry shop dating back to 1930 (Showa 5). As you step inside, remnants of its historical roots unfold—enamel signboards and washboards, nostalgic relics discovered during renovation work, adding a unique charm to the ambiance. The rich history behind the café extends further. The six-row houses, part of this historical complex, were gifted to the previous owner by their parents upon their birth in 1933 (Showa 8), all for a modest sum of 2,600 yen.

This quaint spot took on a new life in October 2011 when a retired couple, formerly working at a facility for disabled people, decided to transform this nagaya into a cozy coffee haven. Their dedication to home-roasted coffee in this transformed laundry space exudes warmth and invites visitors to share in this delightful blend of history and hospitality. The couple designed all the original branding and packaging themselves.

Usagitoboku boasts a retro aesthetic, with both its exterior and interior adorned in rich dark hardwood. Upon entry, to the left, you'll discover a cozy seating area featuring two four-seater tables and on the right a shelf showcasing various goods for sale, from gift sets to cookies and general merchandise. Nestled in the corner is a roasting machine adding to the charm. Venturing further inside, the kitchen area on the left offers a long counter for seating, while the right side hosts a snug private booth accommodating up to four guests. Towards the rear, through glass sliding doors, a secluded room awaits, providing a more private setting. Furnished with a sofa seat, a table, and additional comfortable chairs, it offers a quiet retreat. Throughout the space, an array of antique decor and an impressive collection of rabbit ornaments adorn the walls, giving this café a uniquely charming character.

At Usagitoboku, customers can conveniently view and order items using a QR code system. The menu features a morning set (09:00 - 11:00) offering options like butter toast, honey toast, four types of cheese toast, and hot dog sets. For lunch (from 11:00 onwards), enjoy offerings such as curry, gratin toast, chili cheese toast, hotdog, or cheese dog sets, as well as various cakes (chiffon cake, gateau chocolat, cheese cake and more). 「うさぎとぼく」は、大阪の昭和町エリアにある魅力的なカフェです。1930年（昭和5年）に創業した洗濯屋のあった歴史ある長屋の建物内に位置しています。店内に入ると、改修工事中に発見された琺瑯の看板や洗濯板など、その歴史的なルーツを感じさせる遺物が残り、独特の雰囲気を醸し出しています。お店の入居するこの６軒長屋は、家主さんが1933年(昭和８)に生まれたときに、親からプレゼントされた建物。この建物は当時の価格で2600円だったそうです。

この素敵な場所は、障害者施設で働いていた夫婦が、2011年10月にこの長屋を居心地の良いコーヒー天国に改装しました。自家焙煎コーヒーへのこだわりは温かさを醸し出し、訪問者をこの歴史とおもてなしの楽しいブレンドへと誘います。また、夫婦はオリジナルのブランディングとパッケージを全て自分でデザインしたそうです。

うさぎとぼくは、外観と内装の両方が豊かなダークハードウッドで装飾されており、レトロな雰囲気になっています。 カフェに入ると、左側には 4 人用のテーブルが 2つあり、右側にはギフトセットからクッキーや雑貨まで、さまざまな商品が並ぶ棚があります。隅には動いてる焙煎機があります。 お店の奥に進むと、左側のキッチンエリアとカウンター席があり、右側には4人まで利用できる居心地の良いブース席があります。一番奥にあるガラス引き戸を通って、よりプライベートな部屋が待っています。 ソファ席、テーブル、快適な椅子があり、静かな隠れ家みたい。 空間全体に、様々な素敵なアンティーク商品と恐らく世界一多くのウサギの商品で飾られており、独特の居心地の良い雰囲気になっています。

メニューはQRコードシステムで、携帯で読み込んでから見れます。朝のセット（09:00～11:00）には、バタートースト、ハニートースト、4種類のチーズトースト、ホットドッグなどがあります。ランチ（11:00以降）には、カレー、グラタントースト、チリチーズトースト、ホットドッグ、チーズドッグセットなどがあります。また、シフォンケーキ、ガトーショコラ、チーズケーキなどのケーキも楽しめます。しかし、うさぎとぼくの一番魅力的な商品は、美しいラテアートで飾られたコーヒー。オーナーさんがとてもクリエイティブでなんでも描けるみたい。主に季節の影響もあり、この記事に追加した社員でクリスマスバージョンをエンジョイが出来ます。カフェではコーヒーの他に、チャイ、フルーツミルク、ココアなどのソフトドリンクもあります。
