Shinshinsha is a lovely “green” cafe in the outskirts of the Sumiyoshi Ward, South Osaka that offers more than just an enjoyable lunch. The cafe is located on a 10 minute walk from Midosuji line’s Nishitanabe station but there is a car and bicycle parking available right in front of the cafe.

While the cafe’s exterior might be hidden by the numerous plants displayed outside in front of the shop, it can be easily recognized by the giant antique metal shipping container in front of the cafe.

The cafe’s wooden interior is very spacious and offers both counter seats near the windows as well as table seats of which some have comfortable sofa seats.

The wooden antique style tables and chairs give the cafe a nice aged feel. Right next to the cafe is an atelier where customers can join various kind of handmade goods workshops like ceramics, metal engraving, accessory making and more.

The shopsname shinshinsha comes from one a combination of the Japanese kanji characters 森　(mori = forest) in the shopkeeper’s name and 舎 (sha = house). Kind of like “An oasis in the city”.

「森森舎」は御堂筋線の西田辺駅から徒歩でやく10分のところにあります。駐車場もあるので車や自転車でもいけます。

たくさんの植物に覆われているカフェを見つけるのは難しいかもしれないですが、大きな貨物コンテナがお店の前に設置されているのですぐわかります。

広々としたカフェには、木製のカウンター席やテーブル席両方があります。其の上にソファ席もあります。古い木製のテーブルと椅子がアンティークな雰囲気を演出してます。

カフェのすぐ隣に工房があります。お客様は様々なイベント「陶器制作、彫金、アクセサリー制作、など」を楽しむことが出来ます。

「森森舎」の名前の由来は、店主の名字が森脇で、森(forest)の舎(house)というような意味合いで、【都会の中のオアシス】のような存在です。
