In the tourist hub of port town Osaka a new café opened up in August 2023 called “NITO Coffee&Craft Beer CHIKKO”. Nito Chikko is named after the Chikko area it's located in and is Nito’s second branch with the main store located in Umeda Kitashinchi area. The Chikko branch sits right around the corner of Chuo Line - Osakako Station exit 4, just head down the stairs and turn left immediately and you will see the cafe hidden behind a car parking.

The Chikko branch finds its place in a former house and cleaning shop which has been renovated into a stylish cafe by "Tun Up Cafe", a renowned renovation company. The exterior of the building is light grey with a stylish black wood façade featuring a bay-window on the ground floor complemented with wainscot panels as well as stylish gold accents and lettering on the windows. Nito Coffee Chikko branch occupies two floors with the kitchen/order counter and roastery on the ground floor and a spacious seating area on the second floor.

As soon as you enter the cafe you will be welcomed by a stylish interior where most of the floor is covered with a lovely hexagon shaped tile pattern. As seen in its Umeda counterpart, the cafe incorporates industrial design elements, such as an open ceiling and a distinctive red brick wall adorned with white NITO carved stones. A recurring NITO design is their signature lightboxes, gracing the back of the kitchen wall with printed text.

The seating area on the second floor is spacious and features an L-shaped counter along the back wall, equipped with electrical sockets for charging your devices. The rest of the space consists of groups of chairs surrounding large chests repurposed as tables, placed atop Persian carpets.

The menu is extensive and features many delicious items including various coffees as well as non-coffee drinks. The cafe also serves delicious sweets like scones, poundcakes, brownies or large cookies. Of course, as the café's name implies, they also offer a selection of beers.

The café is a wonderful addition to a visit that includes nearby attractions like the Osaka Aquarium and Glicon Showroom. 大阪港の観光地に、2023年8月に「NITO Coffee&Craft Beer CHIKKO」という新しいカフェがオープンしました。Nito Chikkoは、その名の通り、立地する築港地区に因んで名付けられたカフェで、大人気のNito梅田北新地本店の2店舗目になります。Chikko支店は、中央線、大阪港駅のすぐ近くにあり、4番出口の階段を下りてすぐ左に曲がると、駐車場の裏側にカフェが見えます。

Nito Chikkoに位置している建物は以前家とクリーニング屋さんでしたが、「Tun Up Cafe」という有名なリノベーション会社によってスタイリッシュなカフェに改装されました。建物の外観はライトグレーで、カフェのファサードは黒い木材で、1階にはベイウィンドウと腰板パネルがあり、窓にゴールドなエレメントと文字で飾られています。カフェは2階建てで、キッチン/注文カウンターとロースタリーが1階にあり、2階には広々とした座席エリアがあります。

カフェに入ると、すぐに美しい六角形のタイル模様で覆われているフロアが目に引くデザインになっています。Nito本店の赤いレンガの壁とキッチンの裏にある特徴的なライトボックスがChikko支店にも配置されて、より姉妹店な感じが出ます。

2階の座席エリアは広々としており、奥の壁にはL字型のカウンターがあり、電源コンセントも備えられています。手前のスペースは、椅子に囲まれて、ペルシャのカーペットの上に配置されて、大きなチェストがテーブルとして再利用されたテーブル席もあります。

メニューは豊富で、さまざまなコーヒーはもちろん、コーヒー以外のドリンクもあります。カフェはスコーン、パウンドケーキ、ブラウニー、大きなクッキーなど、美味しいスイーツも提供されています。店名の名前通り、ビールもあります。
