Basque cheesecake lovers assemble! There is a great spot in Osaka where you can enjoy your favorite cheesecake called 'Nico' instagram.com/nico.__625. Opened in April 2021 and formerly situated in a small alley a little North of Nakazakicho area, due to its popularity Nico had to move to a newer and bigger location in April 2024, exactly three years later. The new cafe sits on a ten minute walk from Sakaisuji-Line - Tenjinbashi6Chome Station, near the Yodo river delta and behind a community center sports field. Nico is run by a friendly young lady and the origin of it's name comes from NikoNiko which means smiling in Japanese. The owner hopes that the delicious cheesecake will leave customers feeling satisfied and content as they leave the cafe.

The cafe has a spacious stylish interior with a slick minimal and modern interior design featuring a large mortar counter. In the back of the cafe is the seating area that consists of four tables for two, a bench with small side tables that runs along the wall in the back and eight seats along the kitchencounter.

The menu consists of a drink menu that includes coffee, cafe au lait, cafe moccha, tea, milktea, apple juice, beer and highball. But the highlight is of course the homebaked basque cheesecake, which can be bought by piece or at whole (18 cm) and tastes absolutely fantastic and one of the reasons Nico is so popular.

2021年4月にオープンして、自家製バスクチーズケーキで有名なNicoさんは、人気すぎて2024年4月により大きなお店へ移転しました。新店舗は堺筋線天神橋6丁目駅から北の方、徒歩で10分のところ、淀川の近くに位置してます。

店名の由来はオーナーがお客様を美味しいケーキと楽しい時間で喜ばせて、みんなニコニコさせると言う意味です。

店内は広々として、ミニマルとモダンなインテリアスタイルでおしゃれな空間になってます。店内に入るとすぐ目の前に大きいなモルタル材のキッチンカウンターがあります。お店の奥にカフェスペースがあり、2人用テーブルが四つ、壁沿いのベンチとキッチンカウンター席も8席があります。

メニューは飲み物「コーヒー、カフェオレ、カフェモカ、紅茶、ミルクティー、りんごジュース、ビールやハイボール」がありますがもちろんハイライトは自家製バスクチーズケーキになります。チーズケーキは一個ずつかホールケーキ「6号」でも購入可能。テイクアウトも可能です。

Nicoはおしゃれなカフェで、オーナーもフレンドリーだし、バスクチーズケーキとても美味しくて、おすすめのカフェです。
