Famous for their amazing crepes and galettes, Creperie Neuf is a narrow but cozy little cafe in the back streets of the Yamanako district on a walking distance from the Imperial Palace.

The cafe is easily distinguishable because of its classic and stylish glass panel and wooden facade that has a Western style design instead of the typical Japanese style exteriors that can be found in and around Kyoto.

The cafe has small 1/2 person tables surrounding the kitchen and 2 larger tables in the back. For a view over the street and better lighting for instagram photos to promote the shop we recommend the two round tables near the entrance with a view outside. Creperie Neuf gets its cozy atmosphere due to the lighting from outside in combination with the decorative greens inside the cafe.

Creperie Neuf’s main dishes are of course…crepes but they also serve some fantastic Galettes. For those who are not in the know, crepes and galettes are flat French style pancakes. Crepes are usually made of plain flour with sweet toppings. Galettes on the other hand are made of buckwheat flour and are usually savoury.

The galettes don’t only look good, they taste absolutely fantastic. The galette plate looks pretty big and might scare people with a small stomach, but fret not, it’s easier to finish than you might think.

In fact you might be up for seconds.

結構狭いけど居心地なカフェ「ヌフ　クレープリー」は京都の仙洞御所の徒歩できるぐらいな距離にある山中町にあります。とてもスタイリッシュで美味しいクレープとガレットで有名なカフェです。

ガラスと木製のウエスターンスタイルな外観はとてもスタイリッシュで京都に和風な外観が多くて割と目立てます。

「ヌフ　クレープリー」のインテリアは、キッチンが一人・二人席のテーブルに囲まれてますがカフェの奥の方に２つのもっと大きいなテーブルがあります。カフェの前にある道路を眺めるために又はインスタグラムをもっと良いライティングで綺麗に撮りたい場所はカフェの入り口の近くにある丸いテーブル席がおすすめです。外からの光が店内の観葉植物とあわせたら暖かい、居心地な雰囲気がします。

カフェのメインがもちろん「クレープ」ですが素晴らしいガレットも色々あります。知らない方ですが、クレープとガレットはフレンチスタイルフラットのパンケーキです。普段はクレープは普通の小麦粉で作られていますが甘いものです。ガレットはそば粉でもっとセイボリーな味がします。

ガレットは見た目だけ美味しそうではなく、素晴らしい美味しいです。ガレットのプレートは結構大きそうかもしれないですが、軽くって、小さな胃袋を持っているの方も全然食べれます。

もしかして、２つも食べたくて、食べれます。
