On a 5 minute walk to the South of Kawaramachi Station is the casual café 'Kamee Coffee Takatsuji'. Its the second branch of the Kamee Coffee chain, (with the other one near Nijo Castle) that opened it's doors in June of 2022. Kamee comes from the word 亀 (Kame - Turtle) and is an Okinawa word that means 'to eat and to drink a lot'.

It’s a two story café situated in a old storage building located in a quiet neighborhood surrounded by many other old buildings. It sits across the street from a wide single-floor garage-like storage place, Eiyou-ji temple and a policebox.

The exterior of Kamee Coffee is wide with large windows, peach color stucco pillars, a cedar paneled entrance and ‘KAMEE COFFEE’ in big orange/peach neon lettering on top of a weathered wood paneled section that runs over the entire width of the building.

Entering the café through the automatic sliding glass doors you will find the order kitchen on your left, however if you decide to eat-in you'll first have to pick a seat before you order. You can take a seat on the ground floor or on the first floor with a choice over a variety of seats.

The interior is spacious with an industrial interior design that shows the raw materials (metal staircase, concrete floor, bare ceiling and corrugated plates) of the building. The furniture is a combination of retro and industrial pieces that include (vintage lewis counter chairs, windsor fan back chairs, vintage school chairs and more). There are seats for up to 40 people.

The menu has a wide range of choices with drinks (drip coffee, cafe latte, americano, tea, soda, juice, smoothie and even beer) and food (cookie, muffin, cake, toast, hotdog, sandwich, curry and even French fries). They also have seasonal sweets e.g. Sweet potato pie which go extremely well with a nice cafe latte.

Kamee Coffee Takatsuji is a spacious café with a relaxed atmosphere and a big menu which makes for a good coffee break or a quick lunch.

阪急京都線河原町駅から徒歩で5分ぐらい南の方にカジュアルなカフェ「Kamee Coffee Takatsuji - カメーコーヒータカツジ」があります。カメコーヒーの2店目「本店は二条城の近くにあります」は2022年の6月オープンした。Kamee「亀」の意味の由来は沖縄の方言で「いっぱい食べて、召し上がって」という意味になっています。

Kamee Coffee 高辻は静かなエリアに古い建物に囲まれて、３階建ての元倉庫の建物の1階と2階を使っています。カフェの向こう側に1階建てのガレージっぽくの倉庫、永養寺と交番の向こう側に位置しています。

外観はワイドで大きなガラス張り、ピーチ色漆喰された柱、杉板に覆われている入口とその上に大きなオレンジ・ピーチ色のネオンで「KAMEECOFFEE」が掛かっている。

お店を入るとイートインしたい方はまず席を選んでからオーダーが出来ます。席は1階でも2階でも可能です。

インテリアは細長く、広々として、建物の荒い素材「鋼の階段、コンクリートフロア、オープン天井と波板」でインダストリアルスタイルなインテリアデザインになっています。家具はレトロとインダストリアル種類の「ヴィンテージLewis カウンターチェア, ウィンザーファンバックチェア, vintage school chairsなど」で構成されています。お客席は40席ぐらいがあります。

メニューは飲み物「ドリップコーヒー、カフェラッテ「デカフェも可能」、アメリカーノ、ティー、ソーダ、ジュース、スムージー、ビール」と食べ物「クッキー、マフィン、ケーキ、トースト、ホットドッグ、サンドイッチ、カレー、フレンチフライなど」から選ばれます。たまに季節限定のスイーツ「例：パープルのサツマイモのパイ」があり、カフェラテととても相性が良い。

Kamee Coffee高辻は広くて、カジュアルな雰囲気と広いメニューでコーヒーブレイクやちょっと食べたい時でおすすめなカフェです。
