Hive Coffee is a stylish new café with a friendly owner located on a five minute walk from Kyoto Gyoen National Park and Karasuma Line’s Imadegawa station exit 1. It sits on the bottom floor of a lovely stand alone house and has a stylish exterior with beautiful horizontal brown tiling and a recessed entrance.

Inside you will find a spacious interior that combines a mid century interior style with Cesca armless chairs and unfinished wooden board walls which gives the café a warm and cozy vibe. Seating consists of one large four-person table, a wall counter with 6 chairs and another two counter chairs next to the kitchen. The kitchen features a beautiful hexagon shaped tile backsplash resembling a bee hive in shiny azul and olive green colors.

The menu is quite varied with coffee (drip or milk (cafe latte 600 yen)) or orange juice. For food Hive serves a variety of toasts (breakfast plate, bacon egg toast, cheese toast or butter toast) or sweets (rare cheesecake, chocolate brownie, scone or cookie). Hive also sells coffee beans.

The café opens early in the morning and is located near Kyoto Gyoen National Park so it's a great choice in combination with an outing.

京都御苑や烏丸線今出川駅1番出口から徒歩5分ぐらいにおしゃれなカフェ「Hive Coffee」『ハイヴ コーヒー』があります。新築のー戸建ての1階にある、茶色のタイルの壁と凹んでいる入口でスタイリッシュな外観です。

店内は広々として、ラフなウッドボードに覆われている壁とミッドセンチュリー「チェスカ アームレスチェア」のインテリアで構成されて、居心地の良い雰囲気がします。お客席は、4人掛けの大きなテーブルが1つ、椅子が６つのウォールカウンターとキッチン付きカウンターチェアが2つで構成されています。キッチンのバックには、アズール色とオリーブ グリーン色の蜂の巣にイメージして美しい六角形のタイルの特徴なバックスプラッシュになっています。

メニューは豊富で飲み物はコーヒー（ドリップorミルク（カフェラテ600円））やオレンジジュースがあり、食べ物は様々なトースト (朝食プレート、ベーコンエッグ トースト、チーズ トーストやバター トースト) やスイーツ​​ (レア チーズケーキ、チョコレート ブラウニー、スコーンやクッキー) があります。 Hiveではコーヒー豆も販売しています。

京都御苑の近くにあるから、ついでにお出かけも出来るカフェです。
