Located in the outskirts of Osaka's countryside, in the Toyono district sits the lovely kominka cafe called "Emma Coffee" instagram.com/emmacoffee_/.  EMMA COFFEE started in 2014 as a coffee stand inside a daily goods store called Nakanishi Shoten. As Nakanishi Shoten celebrated its 100th anniversary, renovation work began over a period of about a year and a half to transform the daily goods store into what Emma Coffee is today. Emma Coffee sits along the 423 that runs from North Osaka to Kameoka Kyoto and is popular for cyclists and motorists, hence the cafe offers parking space across the street for up to four cars.

The café is situated adjacent to a koban (police box) on the ground floor of a standalone building boasting typical Japanese architectural elements, such as ichimonjigawara rooftop tiles and an irimoya (hip and gable) style design. Its entrance door showcases a stained-glass window inscribed with the words "Life is too short to drink bad coffee." Upon entering, you're welcomed by a spacious yet inviting interior predominantly crafted from various wood materials, accentuated by a striking red brick wall behind the kitchen/order counter. Spanning approximately 81m², the seating arrangement includes two small round tables near the order counter, two tables situated behind a wooden partition, and a large communal table towards the rear. Through the sliding plastic doors at the back, patrons can access a spacious room utilized for events, featuring a grand atrium and further in the back is the roastery and workshop of the owners. Don't miss the lovely details inside the shop like the shimbals repurposed as lampshades or the peculiar reversed -T shape design wood speaker from the ceiling.

The menu has a wide assortment of drinks including coffee (ice coffee, americano, espresso, cafe latte (600 yen), mocca, espresso tonic), chai latte, matcha latte, cocoa or apple juice. There is also caffeine less coffee available. The food consists of delicious daily home made bagels with either tuna & pickels or pastrami pork & carrot rape filling, cake (terrine cheese or chocolate flavor) as well as cookies made by togo books. Which makes Emma Coffee a great place to visit for either a quick drink or a lunch bite.

北大阪の緑に溢れてる田舎の豊野エリアに素敵な古民家カフェ、「Emma Coffee エマコーヒー」instagram.com/emmacoffee_/があります。EMMA COFFEEは2014年に、中西商店という日用雑貨店の中にあるコーヒースタンドとして始まりました。中西商店が100周年を迎えたタイミングに、約1年半かけたのリノベーションで現在のエマコーヒーに生まれ変わりました。エマコーヒーは、大阪から京都亀岡まで続く423号線沿いにあり、サイクリストやドライバーに特に人気があります。そのため、カフェは道路向かいに最大4台分の駐車スペースを提供しています。

カフェは、伝統的な日本の建築要素である一文字瓦の屋根と入母屋造りの建築様式を誇る、一軒家の建物の1階に位置しています。入り口のドアには、「Life is too short to drink bad coffee　まずいコーヒーを飲むために人生が短すぎる」という言葉が入ったステンドグラスが飾られています。店内に入ると、広々として、多くの木材を使用した居心地の良い雰囲気のインテリアが広がっています。キッチンと注文カウンターの後ろには、印象的な赤レンガの壁があります。店内は約81m²で、注文カウンターの近くには2つの小さな丸テーブルがあり、木製の仕切りの後ろには2つのテーブルが配置されており、奥には大きな共有テーブルがあります。さらに外にも小さなテーブルと席があります。奥の透明の引き戸を開けると、イベントに利用される広々とした部屋にあり、そこからさらに奥にはオーナーの焙煎所や工房があります。店内の魅力的なディテール「ランプシェードとして再利用されたシンバルや、天井から吊るされた倒立したT字型の木製スピーカーなど」も見逃せません。

メニューには、アイスコーヒー、アメリカーノ、エスプレッソ、カフェラテ（600円）、モカ、エスプレッソトニックのコーヒー選択やチャイラテ、抹茶ラテ、ココア、りんごジュースなどのソフトドリンク、さまざまなドリンクが提供されています。カフェインレスコーヒーもあります。食事には、美味しい自家製日替わりバゲル（ツナとピクルスオニオン又はパストラミポークとキャロットラぺ）やケーキ（テリーヌチーズまたはチョコレート味）、togo books製のクッキーなどがあります。エマコーヒーは、ドリンクだけでもちょっとしたランチでも最適な場所です。
