DUNSTAN COFFEE ROASTERS

Dunstan Coffee Roasters is a new stylish coffee shop that opened in April 2022 located on a short walk from Karasuma Station. Its name is based on St Dunstan, a 10th century saint who started the tradition of hanging the horseshoe above the door to ward off bad luck. It is said that if you hang a horse shoe above the door with its open ends up, it will catch and collect luck.

The café has a stylish dark blue and black exterior with medium brown wood exterior cornice and wainscot panels. A large window features the name 'Dunstan Coffee Roasters' on it in big golden letters and the signature horse shoe hangs above the window on the cornice.

The interior has an L shaped layout and has two areas, each with a different style and atmosphere. The area near the entrance has a dark minimal interior with a spruce colored walls and ceiling that only features two benches for the customers and dry flower decorations. In the back of the room is an arch shaped opening that leads to the order & seating counter area in the back. The area in the back has a white interior with two beautiful wooden counters that contrast with the dark area. The interior has a contemporary design and features 3 alcoves with a small statue in the middle.

Dunstan's menu is very simple with "drip coffee, Italian espresso, Espresso Americano and Espresso Iced Latte". They also sell coffee beans with peculiar names that each start with one letter of the Dunstan name:

It's a stylish café with friendly staff located conveniently in central Kyoto.

阪急京都線の河原町駅から徒歩で5分の位置に2022年のゴールデンウイークにオープンした「Dunstan Coffee Roasters ダンスタン・コーヒー・ロースターズ」というスタイリッシュなカフェがあります。ダンスタンという名前は昔話、10世紀の「ダンスタン」という大司教が蹄鉄の魔除けの文化を導入しましたらしい。家の入口の上に蹄鉄を「蹄鉄の口は上になった状態」飾ったら、鬼が家に入らない、良い運が来るという意味です。

カフェの外観はスタイリッシュ、ダークでミドルブラウンウッドのコーニスとウェインスコットパネルの要素で構成されています。大きな窓にお店の名前が大きなゴールドな文字で書かれて、窓の上にあるウッドコーニスにダンスタンの蹄鉄ロゴが飾っています。

インテリアはLー刑のレイアウトになって、二つのスタイルと雰囲気のエリアに構成されています。入口のエリアにはダークのインテリア、壁と天井はスプルース色でベンチ二つとドライフラワーの飾りしかないのミニマルインテリアになっています。部屋の奥にアーチ刑通路を通ると奥にあるオーダーカウンターとカウンター席エリアがあります。ここのエリアはとても明るく、おしゃれなウッドカウンターでコンテンポラリーなインテリアになっています。さらに壁にアルコーブのなかに特徴の石像が飾っています。

メニューはシンプルで「ドリップコーヒー、イタリアンエスプレッソ、エスプレッソアメリカーノ、エスプレッソアイスラテ」から選ばれます。ダンスタンのオリジナルコーヒー豆も販売されていますが各ブレンドは特徴の名前が使われています。
