Located between Minamimorimachi and Tenmabashi station, in the retro neighborhood near Second Banana another retro cafe from a previous post and on a 3 minute walk from Nakanoshima river and Minamitenma Park is ‘Cafe Tokiona’, a very cozy, retro cafe that serves a great breakfast for a surprisingly low price.

Tokiona is Basque for 'a pleasant place, a place where sweets lovers gather'.

The moment you set foot inside this cafe you feel you jumped back in time to America in the 70’s. Tokiona has a lovely retro interior that sports vintage wallpaper, retro furniture and some lovely tile-work at the counter.

Tokiona is quite a spacious cafe that has three 4-person-tables near the windows, four 2-person-tables in the middle of the cafe. All with wooden diningchairs. In the back of the cafe are two livingroom tables with the more comfortable fabric living room chairs and sofas that together with the retro decoration feel like a 70’s livingroom.

The cafe’s menu is separated in breakfast and lunch with breakfast mainly consisting of toasts with diverse toppings. Lunch has curry, burger, spaghetti and various sweets.

Tokiona is extremely popular so it’s recommended to come early.

南森町駅と天満橋駅の間ぐらいにあるレトロエレアで、既にアップされているセカンド・バナナというレトロカフェと南天満公園の近くにレトロカフェ「トキオナ」があります。

店名のトキオナとは、バスク語で気持ちの良い場所、甘いものの好きが集まる場所という意味がある。

お店を入るとアメリカの70年代に戻った感じがします。ビンテージ壁紙、レトロ家具とカウンターで素敵なタイルワークが使われている、トキオナのインテリアはレトロでとても素敵です。

カフェの中は結構広くて、窓側に4人用のテーブル3つとカフェの真ん中に2人用のテーブルが四つがあります。さらに、カフェの奥にリビングテーブルととても快適なリビングチェアとソファが2つあります。リビングテーブルとソファのスペースはレトロの飾りの組み合わせで70年代のリビングが感じます。

カフェのメニューは朝ご飯とランチと2つがあります。朝ご飯のメニューのメインは様々なトッピングのトーストですがランチはカレー、バーガー、スパゲッティと様々なスイーツがあります。

カフェ「トキオナ」はとても人気なカフェなので早い時間行った方がおすすめです。
