Cafe siskoti

On a 20 minute walk from Nagaokatenjin Station, in a quiet residential area in the hills of Nagaokyo is this lovely café called Siskoti.

Siskoti is derived from the Finnish words 'Sis' which means island and 'koti' which means house and is a café geared to children.

The café stands out from the neighboring houses with it's chalk white exterior and light-blue door and windowsills. The interior is also mostly white and has a raised platform with a Maplewood floor. In the back of the café is a kids area that is designed as a small house with playful pastel blue and yellow colored walls. The kids space has many toys and children books.

Siskoti's cafe space has small round eames tables with chairs on the lower floor and small low tables with seating pillows on the raised platform. It's not too spacious but can still seat up to 15 people.

They sell delicious daily lunch plates (e.g. delicious chicken nanban (which is fried chicken with vinegar and tartar sauce), salad, Japanese pickles, rice and vetegables) as well as sweets and of course a kids menu.

It might be a little far from the station (20 min on foot) but it's a great Scandinavian style café to bring kids with friendly staff, that sells delicious lunch plates and sweets.

長岡天神駅から徒歩で20分ぐらいの位置に、静かの住宅街に素敵なカフェ「カフェ シスコティ」があります。
