Burlesque

A decent hamburger place is quite hard to find in Kyoto as there aren't many hamburger places to begin with. However along the Shichihommatsu street on a five minute walk from Umekoji-Kyotonishi station we have found a great one, called ‘Burlesque’.

Burlesque opened its doors in June 2015 and is a hamburger restaurant and beautysalon in one. From the outside the shop looks quite simple with a black wall, black window frame with large windows and a lot of pots and plants in front of the shop.

Once you enter the shop you will be welcomed by a cozy dimly lit interior with a retro vibe. The shop has a rough interior with exposed brick walls completely decorated with various antiques. The furniture itself also consists of many antique pieces, tables, chairs and even a sofa section. There are a total of 15 seats. From the ceiling hang string lights which add to the cozyness of the cafe.

What stands out most in the shop is the hairsalon in the back that is separated with a glass window and dark wood partition with pleated fan Americana bunting hanging behind the windows, which adds to the retro design and gives it an old west feeling.

The menu consists of a variety of hamburgers (smoked bacon cheese, bbq bacon cheese, avocado cheese, mexican, and more) which all come with a side of fries. You can even add extra toppings (jalapeno, egg, sauce, bacon, cheese) for an added charge. The burgers taste absolutely fantastic. Burlesque also offers sandwiches and cocktails.

Burlesque is a great hamburger shop with a cozy atmosphere and a retro interior that really deserves a visit.

京都に良いバーガー屋さんを見つけるのは結構難しいです。そもそもバーガー屋さんそんなに多くない。ただ、梅小路京都西駅から徒歩で5分、七本松通沿いにとても良いバーガー屋さん「Burlesque」『バーレスク』を見つけました！

バーレスクは2015年6月にオープンして、バーガー屋さんと美容院のコンボになっています。外から見ると、シンプルな黒い外観、窓と扉でお店の前にプランターと植物多く置いてあります。

店内は薄暗いレトロなインテリアがあり、荒壁と様々なアンティークな小物で飾られています。家具も様々な種類のテーブル、椅子とソファエリアで構成されています。お客席はおよそ15席があります。天井からコードライトが下がっていて、よりほんわかの雰囲気がします。

店内の一番魅力的のは奥にある美容院です。美容院は子上がりでダークウッドとガラス張りでバーガー屋さんと分割されている。ガラス窓の上にアメリカンプリーツファンが飾られて、なんかウエスタン時代に感じる。

メニューには様々なバーガー「スモークベーコンチーズ、BBQベーコンチーズ、アボカドチーズ、メキシカン、など」があり、全部フライドポテトがついてきます。さらにトッピング「ハラペーニョ、卵、ソース、ベーコン、ちーすなど」も追加に依頼が出来ます「追加料金がかかります」。サンドイッチとカクテルもあります。

バーレスクは本当に素敵なバーガー屋さんで、インテリアは良い雰囲気がしますので、おすすめなお店です。
