Ahiru sweets

If you are looking for a lovely Japanese style café in central Osaka, look no further, 'Ahirukashiten' or Ahiru Sweets is the place to be. Ahiru means duck in Japanese and is the second and newest branch of Ahiru coffee that opened in July of 2022 located on 10 minute walk from Tanimachi Line’s Hirano station.

The cafe sits in a quiet neighborhood inside a renovated nagaya, which used to be a private house, next to Kogenji buddhist temple. The nagaya has been selected for preservation as part of the Hirano HOPE (HOusing with Proper Environment) zone, a plan to preserve historic and cultural assets and promote prosperity. The exterior and some parts of the interior were mostly left in tact during the renovation. The café has a showa style exterior with a dark brown wood façade, typical Japanese rooftiles and a noren displaying the ahiru duck logo.

On the left of the café are glass sliding doors that are covered with wooden sliding doors when the café is closed. On the right behind the noren are double doors that serve as the entrance.

Inside you will be welcomed by a lovely rustic Japanese style interior with the café area on the left and kitchen/order counter on the right. You can first pick a seat and then make your order at the counter. The counter is new

The café area is spacious with plenty of seats consisting of five tables for two and a few counter seats along the wall in the back. In the back of the cafe is a small shop area where you can buy original goods, coffee beans, tea, drip packs, lattebase and even gift sets.

The menu consists consists of today's sweets which can be: scones, cheese cake, pudding, lemon tart, fig tart and other sweets depending on the season. To go with that they have coffee (drip coffee in various blends), decaf or cafe au lait (650 yen)), tea (straight or milk), houjicha latte, ginger ale or apple juice.

Ahiru sweets is an absolute lovely cafe in the middle of Osaka with delicious sweets and a nice atmosphere that really deserves a visit, especially if you like old Japanese style buildings.

大阪中心に素敵なカフェを探したら、「あひる菓子店」『あひるかしてん』がとてもおすすめです。谷町線平野駅から徒歩で10分ぐらいに、2022年07月にオープンして、あひる菓子店はあひるの2店目です。

カフェは静かの住宅街、光源寺の隣にもっと家だったリノベーションされた長屋にあります。長屋は、歴史的・文化的、平野郷地区HOPEゾーン事業　(HOusing with Proper Environment) として保存されています。リノベーションで外観と内部の一部はそのまま残されました。建物はダークブラウンウッドのファサード、典型的な日本の瓦とアヒルのロゴマークがついてるのれんで昭和のデザインになっています。

カフェの左側に素敵なガラス障子があり、営業終了のときに前にあるウッドの引き戸が閉じてガラス障子が隠されています。建物の右側にのれんとダブル引き戸で入口になっています。

店内は素敵なラスティックな和風インテリアスタイルでカフェエリアは左にあり、キッチンとオーダーカウンターは右側にあります。お店を入るとまず席を取ってから注文カウンターでおだーが出来ます。カフェエリアは広々として、2人掛けのテーブルが五つと壁沿いのカウンタ席もあります。カフェの奥には「コーヒー豆、お茶、ドリップパック、ラテベース、オリジナルグッズとギフトセット」が販売されている小さなショッピングエリアもあります。

メニューは本日のスイーツ「スコーン、チーズケーキ、プリン、レモンタルト、など」と季節限定のスイーツ「例：イチジクタルト、など」チョイスが多くあります。飲み物はコーヒー「様々なブレンドのドリップコーヒー、ノンカフェインとカフェオレ「650円」、お茶「ストレート、ミルク」ほうじ茶ラテ、ジンジャーエールとリンゴジュースから選ばれます。美味しいスイーツとコーヒーが相まって、くつろげるの時間が過ごせます。

あひる菓子店は大阪中心にあるとても素敵な長屋カフェで、美味しいスイーツと居心地の良い空間でとてもおすすめなカフェです。
