The Green is a little eatery located on a corner between Kyoto Gyoen National Garden and Demachiyanagi Station. It has a weathered white stucco exterior and looks a little shabby but don't judge a book by its cover. The outside might look a little shabby but the inside and the food tell a different story.

The interior of the green is simple. It has an all white interior with a lovely tiled kitchen counter and wooden furniture that gives it a rustic feel. Especially when the sun is shining, the light shining through the windows light up the interior and gives it a really warm and cozy feeling.

Instead of a paper menu the green has two blackboard painted walls in the back of the café with the menu written in chalk on it. The lunch and sweets menu is in both English and Japanese, the a la carte menu however is only in Japanese. One of the lunch items is a delicious lunch set of 'sausage, mashed potato, salad and bread'.

The Green is a nice, somewhat unknown café that has a delicious lunch menu and is located right next to Kyoto Gyoen National Garden, which is a ideal for having a lovely walk before or after lunch.

The Green「ザ・グリーン」は、京都御苑と出町柳駅の間にある小さなカフェです。外観は真っ白漆喰でちょっと風化されても見た目で判断しない方がいい。外観は少しあれですが、店内と食べ物は別の話です。

店内はシンプルで真っ白いインテリア、素敵なタイルカウンターと無垢材の家具でラスティックなインテリアスタイルになってます。特に晴れてる日には、日光で暖かい、居心地の良い雰囲気になってます。

グリーンでは紙のメニューではなく、カフェの奥に黒板の塗料に塗れてる壁にチョークでメニューが書かれています。ランチとスイーツのメニューは英語と日本語で、アラカルトメニューは日本語のみに書かれています。ランチセットのひとつは、「ソーセージ、マッシュポテト、サラダ、パン」がとても美味しいくて立派なランチです。

The Greenは、おいしいランチメニューがあり、京都御苑の近くにあるからついでにお散歩できる素敵なカフェです。
