No-mu stands for Norm and serves also as a hotel and gallery. It's located in a beautifully renovated kominka that was build in the early 1900s. During the renovation most of the exterior of the old kominka was left intact. The interior however has been mostly renovated and has an interior style that combines the retro Japanese kominka with a more contemporary style design.

It's a spacious café with only a few tables that can seat up to 16 people. Near the kitchen area are some shelves with a some random general goods (magazines, coffee, brass cardstand, tableware etc) for sale.

They serve delicious lunch made with fresh vegetables from the surrounding Kameoka region. For lunch they have vegetable curry, spice curry, sandwich plate or tandoori chicken plate but they change the menu now and then so for updated info we recommend visiting their official website or instagram.

Their café/sweets menu has delicious seasonal sweets as well as monakas. Monakas come in 4 flavors of which you can buy just one or a set of three. All of their food plates are carefully prepared and look absolutely fantastic.

No-mu is a little out of the way but if you have the chance to visit it comes highly recommended.

No-muは、亀岡市にあるカフェ&ホテルでJR並河駅から徒歩10分の位置にあります。

1900年代初期に建築された古民家をリノベーションした美しい建物で、リノベーションの際、エクステリアについてはそのほとんどは元の古民家で使われていたものがそのまま残されましたが、それとは対照的にインテリアについては大胆に改装が行われたことで、昔ながらの日本の古民家の雰囲気と現代的なデザインが調和した魅力的な空間に仕上がっています。

 

建物内に足を踏み入れると、そこには古民家の構造を活かした高い天井と広々としたカフェスペースが広がります。

席数はそれほど多くなく、いくつかのテーブル席が配置され計16席程度の客席数なので、ゆったりと過ごすことができます。

キッチンのそばにはいくつか棚が置かれており、雑誌、コーヒー、真鍮製のカードスタンドや食器類などが陳列されており、カフェにて購入可能です。

 

No-muでは亀岡近郊で採れた新鮮な野菜を使ったランチをいただくことができ、私たちが伺った時は、「ベジタブルカレー」「スパイスカレー」「サンドイッチプレート」「タンドリーチキンプレート」などがありましたが、その時によってメニューも変わるようなので、ＨＰやＳＮＳなどで事前に最新メニューをチェックすることをおすすめします。

カフェメニューには季節のスイーツやオリジナルもなかなどがあります。

もなかは4種類あり、1つだけ選んで注文することもできますし、3種セットで注文することもできます。

 

No-muで提供されるメニューはどれも丁寧につくられ、ひと皿ひと皿が素晴らしいです。

京都市の中心から少し離れていますが、機会があれば是非足を伸ばして頂きたいおすすめのカフェです。
