Kyonomori Yurinsha is a lovely café and hotel located on a ten minute walk from Hankyu-Kyoto Line's Kawaramachi station. The cafe is located in a peaceful narrow street and might be a little difficult to find since it's covered by lots and lots of greens.

Going inside you will enter a small bakery section and the check in counter. In the back is the café seating area and even further in the back are stairs that lead to second floor seating area which used to be a guestroom. The interior has a rustic feel with lots of wood and natural white plaster. The plaster is of a special kind that cleans itself and is used throughout the whole building. That in combination with the wood gives it a lovely rustic, farmhouse feel which is quite unique in Kyoto.

The menu is simple an has a daily pasta plate that comes with salad and bread. Kyonomori Yurinsha uses homemade bread, pretzel, bagel and scones which are also sold at the bakery area.

It's a hidden gem with delicious food in a cozy rustic setting that opens early in the morning. That in combination with its convenient location makes it a must visit.

京の森有隣舎 『　キョノモリユリンシャ　』

阪急京都線の河原町駅から徒歩10分のところに素敵なカフェ＆ホテル「京の森有隣舎」があります。カフェは静かな狭い通りにあり、たくさんの緑に覆われているので見つけるのは少し難しいかもしれません。

お店を入ると、小さなパン屋のセクションとチェックインカウンターがあります。お店の奥にはカフェスペースがあり、さらに奥には2階の個室のカフェスペース「元々ホテルルームだった」まで上がれる階段があります。インテリアはラスティックな雰囲気で、ウッドと白い漆喰が主に使われています。漆喰は特別のフランス産ですが、自動的に清掃する種類の漆喰で、建物全体で使用されています。白い漆喰とウッドの組み合わせで、ラスティックなファームハウスな雰囲気がしますが、京都では結構ユニークです。

メニューはシンプルで、サラダとパンが付いているパスタプレートがメインです。パン屋さんでも販売されている自家製パン、プレッツェル、ベーグル、スコーンを使用しています。

早朝にオープンする居心地の良いラスティックな雰囲気のカフェで、おいしい料理を楽しめる穴場です。
