Opening its doors in July 2026, the former family home has been thoughtfully renovated while preserving the original character of the building.

From the outside, the café retains the appearance of a traditional Japanese home. Passing through the front gate, visitors are greeted by the wide wooden façade before stepping into an interior that blends classic Japanese architecture with contemporary design. The renovation and spatial design were overseen by Yukio Kimura (instagram.com/yukio_kimura) , creating a warm, understated atmosphere throughout.

The seating area is generously sized and divided into two distinct spaces. One features dark wooden bench seating paired with mortar tables, while the highlight is a slightly raised tatami area furnished with matching mortar tables. Guests are asked to remove their shoes before entering this space, where soft linen curtains gently sway in the breeze, adding a sense of privacy and tranquility. Combined with the café’s calm background music, the interior feels both inviting and relaxing.

The café is run by Steve and his wife, Eri, who also designed the branding and packaging. Before opening their own shop, Steve honed his craft while working at Sloth Coffee in Osaka. Today, he roasts the café’s coffee in-house, with the menu featuring carefully prepared coffee, matcha, soft drinks, and a selection of freshly baked pastries that pair perfectly with the beverages.

Alongside its drinks and sweets, the café also offers drip bags and a curated selection of ceramics, including the beautiful pieces by Yume Tanigawa used to serve each drink. The ceramics are also available for purchase, allowing visitors to take home a piece of the café’s carefully considered aesthetic.

阪急京都線・摂津市駅から徒歩約3分ぐらいのところに、静かな住宅街のに、2026年7月にオープンした古民家カフェ「Fukunishi Artisan Co. (instagram.com/fukunishiartisanco)」が隠れています。もともとは住宅だった建物を改装して、昔の雰囲気を残しながら心地よい空間へと生まれ変わりました。

カフェはスティーブさんと奥さまのエリさんに営まれていますが、二人でお店のロゴやパッケージデザインが手がけています。スティーブさんは以前、大阪の「Sloth Coffee」で経験を積み、その後このカフェをオープンしました。

カフェの前にある門をくぐると、広々とした庭と昔ながらの日本家屋が迎えてくれます。店内は、和の雰囲気とコンテンポラリーなデザインを取り入れた、落ち着きのある空間になっています。空間デザインはKimura Yukioさん(instagram.com/yukio_kimura)が手がけ、伝統とモダンが自然に調和した居心地の良い雰囲気をつくり上げています。

店内はゆったりとした造りで、カフェスペースは2つのエリアに分かれています。一つはダークウッドのベンチ席とモルタルのテーブル席が並ぶエリア。もう一つは小あがりの畳席で、こちらもモルタルのテーブルが置かれています。畳席は靴を脱いで利用するスタイルで、やさしく揺れるリネンのカーテンがほどよい仕切りとなり、落ち着いた時間を過ごすことができます。店内には心地よい音楽が流れ、ゆっくりとくつろげる空間になっています。

現在は店内で自家焙煎したコーヒーを提供しており、メニューにはコーヒーのほか、抹茶やソフトドリンク、そして焼きたてのペストリーもあります。どれでも味が優しくてとても美味しい。提供されているドリンクのカップも店内で販売されています。

店内ではドリップバッグや陶器も販売しています。ドリンクは陶芸家・谷川夢さんが制作した美しい器で提供され、気に入った器は購入することもできます。お店の世界観を、自宅でも楽しめるのがうれしいポイントです。
