Goodman Roaster Kyoto

Opened in November of 2019 and located in central Kyoto on a walking distance from Hankyu Kyoto Line’s Karasuma Station is ‘Goodman Roaster Kyoto’, the Japanese branch of a Taiwanese coffee roaster that has two other branches in Taipei.

The café and roaster is located on the ground floor and has a full glass façade with a large graph about the roasting process on the front window. The café has a wide entrance which is ideal for people in wheelchairs. Inside you will find a spacious interior with a couple of tables, some counter chairs and some sofa seats. On the right side of the café is the roaster and in the back you will find the order counter.

The menu consists of a variety of coffees (filter base, espresso base, black, white, a variety of lattes etc) and non coffee drinks like Taiwanese tea and chocolate. They also sell sweets.

The owner is very friendly and sometimes does interesting instagram live broadcasts to teach people about coffee and roasting as well as interviews.

Goodman Roaster Kyoto is a nice café to visit if you are in the neighborhood.
