‘ COMFY ‘ is a stylish and minimalistic café situated in the heart of central Kyoto, just a leisurely five-minute stroll from Hankyu Kyoto Line – Karasuma Station. Operated by the two stylish and friendly Yamamoto ( Sakina and Nanami ) sisters, this cafe opened its doors on March 3, 2023, bringing a touch of sleek style to the city’s mainly Kyoto aesthetic cityscape.

Entering COMFY you will be captivated by its minimalistic design, with a mainly white interior and the kitchen and order counter positioned at the center on a raised platform, resembling a DJ booth. The interior is simple yet elegant using mainly concrete and mortar artfully paired with decorative rock elements. The seating space consists of a recessed alcove in the wall opposite of the kitchen, accompanied by a large jagged rock that doubles as a unique table or an ideal backdrop for those Instagram-worthy snapshots.

COMFY’s menu embraces the beauty of simplicity, offering a carefully curated selection of beverages and sweets with a focus on matcha and houjicha including matcha latte, matcha cider, matcha beer, and houjicha latte. The cafe also offers homemade sweets such as houjicha pudding, matcha pudding, and even a rare cheesecake.
