SLOTH COFFEE ROASTERS NAKATSU

The popular ‘Sloth Coffee Roasters Motomachi’ café has expanded its presence with a second branch in Nakatsu, marking Kansai’s second Sloth Coffee shop following the successful launch of the Kobe Motomachi branch in March 2023. This café embraces a charming Korean-style ambiance accentuated by its simple yet chic design. Conveniently located along a brief stroll between Hankyu Takarazuka Line Nakatsu Station and Midosuji Line Nakatsu Station (exit 5), the café offers a delightful addition to the area.

Sitting on the ground floor of a small weathered building, this café boasts a white stucco exterior with ‘Sloth Coffee’ in big black letters above the entrance, similar to its sister shop in Motomachi. The entrance features large glass sliding doors, offering a clear view into the café’s stylish interior for passersby. The interior space boasts a rough concrete floor and walls, with some walls covered in medium-brown tone teak wood sheets, and an open ceiling with exposed metal framework. The wooden wall extends into a bench while showcasing the iconic Beatles Abbey Road album cover tapestry. Black wood and metal furniture add a modern touch, creating a stylish and eclectic atmosphere.

The menu at ‘Sloth Coffee’ offers various coffee options, including espresso, Americano, Cafe Latte (600 yen), flat white, Vanilla Bean Latte, hazelnut latte, Sloth Latte, and cream mocha. Non-coffee drinkers can choose from cream milk tea, chocolate, and American cherry soda. To accompany your drink, there is also an array of delightful sweets, including canelé, scones, cookies, and financiers. The skilled baristas are also able to create beautiful latte art, adding a charming touch to your beverages.
