SAN

San Osaka is a hip restaurant/café located in Naniwa area right next to Sennichimae line’s Sakuragawa station. It sits on the second floor of a community space building shared with other small shops.

It’s a tiny café with limited seats that consists of tables as well as a raised platform with window seats where you have to take of your shoes and sit cross-legged on zabuton.

San is open from 08:30 in the morning until 14:30 and mainly serve breakfast or lunch as well as some sweets but if you visit you should so for their breakfast or lunch menus. San offers teishoku (a set meal) using ingredients from local farms they work with. Their lunch menu has 3 choices: pasta (porcini and gorgonzola rigatoni), a fish dish (salmon, cod or other depending on the day) and a pork or chicken dish. Again the menu is subject to change depending on the day or season. They tray of food comes with not only the main dish but also a freshly baked bread, soup and two delicious side dishes. The food looks great and tastes absolutely fantastic.

San is a cozy restaurant café that is hands down one of the MUST-VISIT places if you are in Osaka, but keep in mind the seating is limited and the place is popular, it is still worth the wait.
