About
Between Hankyu Minami-Kata Station and Hankyu Juso Station, on a 10 minute walk from either station is the cozy bakery cafe called ‘ Lamptira ‘. Lamptira has a long history and opened its doors in June of 2010 under the name Hiyawama. In May of 2019 they decided to change the name into Lamptira (lamp – as in lamp) and (tira – as in pull up) which means to shine a soft light and create a comfortable atmosphere with good food, to better fit their concept.
The café sits along the Yodogawa street on the ground floor of an apartment building and has a simple but lovely white exterior with a wooden window and doorframe with wooden sliding doors in the middle.
The interior is mainly white with a dark-wood floor and a lot of antique wooden furniture and rustic elements. There are around 12 seats with three small tables for two persons and one large dining table for 6 persons.
Natural yeast bread, sandwiches, sweets and drinks are some of the things on Lamptira’s menu. Some of the baked goods can be bought for take out but they also have delicious lunch plates (bagel plate, sandwich plate, toasts) as well as sweets (scones, cheesecake etc) that go very well with a coffee or their homemade chai for eating in. For their baked goods Lamptira uses mostly: “Hokkaido and Iwate wheat, Australian rye, natural yeast, organic dried fruits and Yotsuba butter” among other healthy ingredients.
