Hue Coffee Roaster

Located in a quiet neighborhood near Tanimachi-4-Chome station is ‘Hue Coffee Roaster’, a stylish café that opened it’s doors in Autumn 2021. It opens early in the morning at 08 AM so a perfect café for early birds.

The café has a spacious interior that combines a minimal style with Scandinavian elements.

Hue is a special café in a sense that it doesn’t accept cash but only allows payments through their own official iphone app or the Japanese electronic payment app called ‘paypay’. Setting up requires a little time and work as you have to connect the app through your apple account and a creditcard. When it’s all set up you can finally order your drink or sweets.

They have a variety of different coffees but instead of using the name of the beans or the blend each type of coffee is marked by a color (hue), e.g. Indigo Blue, Pink Beige, Light Green or Deep Ruby. The app shows the explanation of each coffee in Japanese only. For food they either have cookies, cheese cake or a vegetable/curry cake.

The coffee is delicious and comes with beautiful latte art. The staff is friendly as well.
