Nova is a new stylish café that opened it’s doors in January 2021 and is already a huge hit with occasionally long waiting lines.
The café is located on a walking distance from either Minami Morimachi station or Tenmabashi station, near Minamitenma park along the O river.
The café has a simple white stucco exterior with a one big dark-wood, colonial style window. Next to the entrance is a copper plate shop sign that features the Nova logo.
The cafe has a beautiful modern Japanese (和モダン wamodan) style interior that uses a lot of natural dark wood, with a hardwood floor and table with stickback chairs.
The counter is a slick slab of concrete with behind that a beautiful medium brown wood cabinet with glass doors, cabinet items are nicely arranged.
The kitchen is filled with items that range from antique glass Jars with coffee beans to modern coffee drip sets and even a Japanese style teapot.
At the end of the counter in the corner is a little stylish glass case that displays Nova’s sweets with a beautiful brass (千sen bracket light) wall lamp above it.
Nova’s morning menu offers a few toasts with different toppings (e.g. butter, cheese, red bean paste) as well as a croque monsieur.
Nova also sells scones, pudding and muffins.
For drinks Nova offers a few different coffees (cafe-au-lait, ice-coffee, etc) and for the non-coffee drinkers there is also herb tea or delicious organic mandarin-orange juice from Ehime.
Another thing that stands out at Nova is the tableware and ceramics.
Food and drinks come with beautiful and stylish modern Japanese-style matte ceramics that the owner has collected over the years. It adds a level of class to the food and drinks.
Nova is a great place to have a drink and/or some sweets in a quiet and stylish atmosphere.
