JUSTICE BROWN

Minami Morimachi, famous for the Osaka Tenmangu shrine, The longest shopping arcade in Japan (2.6 km) and soon for Justice Brown, a new café that opened in September 2022 that sells delicious Taiwanese donuts.

Exiting Minami Morimachi station exit 7, turn right and going the first right around the corner walking towards Osaka Tenmangu Shrine, turn right around the corner again and after 20 meters you will find the shop on your right. The entrance is small but it has The words ‘coffee’ and ‘donuts’ in big letters on a brown façade so you can’t miss it.

Going through the glass sliding doors you will immediately find the order counter on the right with the kitchen behind it. After you order and pay you can take a seat in the cafe area in the back of the cafe. The cafe is dimly lit and has a contemporary design which was entirely designed by Interior Bookworm design company who used 14 different shades of brown inside the cafe for it’s concept (delicious brown). The cafe area has two semi-private booths on the right side and one large cafe space with multiple tables and chairs on the left.

Justice Brown’s main menu consists of freshly baked Taiwanese donuts. What are Taiwanese donuts? These donuts have a crispy exterior and a fluffy interior and are extremely light. Justice sells three types: “plain, milk and chocolate”. What ever flavor you pick, they are absolutely magnificent. Freshly baked, warm, crunchy and sweet. Don’t be afraid to order more than one because definitely you can eat more than one. And if you can’t? You can always opt to take out.

Besides donuts they also sell ‘annin tofu’, a type of almond tofu dessert. Also recommended. For drinks there is coffee (original blend, seasonal single blend, cafe latte (600 yen) and cold brew coffee), various teas, apple juice, milk and even Taiwanese beer.

Justice Brown is a nice café with friendly staff that sells absolutely fantastic freshly baked Taiwanese donuts that go very well with a delicious coffee, to eat-in or to-go.
