Lignum is a stylish café located on a five minute walk from Tozai Line's Higashiyama station and is across the street from Miyako Messe Exhibition center. It sits on the groundfloor and has a complete white façade with a slope to the entrance which makes it accessible for people in wheelchairs.

Inside you will find a spacious interior with plenty of (roughly 28) seats. The café has a modern style interior with stylish dark grey wall tiles one one side and a white wall with an alcove that has a beautiful flower arrangement on the other side to contrast the dark interior. The furniture consists of wooden tables with 'bow back' and 'stick back' chairs. The interior is dimly lit and has a cozy atmosphere.

There is a breakfast and a lunch menu that are could change over time but at time of writing consist of "homemade granola, avocado toast, french toast, cheese toast, cobbs salad" to which you can add sides like "kale, fried egg, scrambled egg, bacon or sausage" that come at extra costs. For lunch (usually starts from 11:00 AM) they have a different, more elaborate menu that includes a "BBQ pulled pork burger, shrimp sandwich, quiche" as well as a variety of sweets like "parfait, fruits sandwich,  pudding, terrine and more". As for drinks there is a lot of choice between coffee, tea, a variety of juices and even alcohol.

The cafe is located on a walking distance from Miyako Messe Exhibition Center, Heian Shrine and Kyoto City Zoo which makes it an ideal cafe for before or after an outing in the area.

Lignum is a stylish café with a great and delicious menu that deserves a visit even if you are not in the area, but we recommend contacting the café before your visit as they don't announce their random holidays on their social networks.

リグナムは東山線東山駅から徒歩5分、京都市勧業館の向こう側にあるのスタイリッシュなカフェです。カフェは1階にあり、真っ白の外観になってます。車椅子の方がアクセスできるように入り口への傾斜もあります。

店内にはお客席が多く（約28）席がある広々としたインテリアになってます。カフェはモダンなスタイルのインテリアで、片側の壁はスタイリッシュなダークグレーのウォールタイルに覆われいる、反対側には暗いインテリアと対照的な美しいフラワーアレンジメントのあるアルコーブの白い壁があります。家具は、「ボウバックチェア」と「スティックバックチェア」と木製のテーブルに構成されています。インテリアは薄暗い照明で居心地の良い雰囲気になってます。

メニューには朝ご飯とランチメニュー二つがあります。朝ご飯メニューは「自家製グラノーラ、アボカドトースト、フレンチトースト、チーズトースト、コブサラダ」に構成されており、「ケール、目玉焼き、スクランブルエッグ、ベーコン、ソーセージ」は料金で追加可能です。ランチ（通常は午前11時から）には、ご飯「バーベキュープルドポークバーガー、エビサンドイッチ、キッシュ」があり、「パフェ、フルーツサンドイッチ、プリン、テリーヌ」などのスイーツメニューもあります。さらに飲み物には、コーヒー、お茶、さまざまなジュースやアルコールから選ばれます。

京都市勧業館、平安神宮、京都市動物園などから徒歩圏内にあるカフェなので、お出かけ前か後にとてもおすすめです。

Lignumは、その地域にいなくても訪れる価値のあるとても美味しいメニューがあるスタイリッシュなカフェですが、ソーシャルネットワークでないきなり休日を発表しないため、行く前にカフェに連絡することがお勧めです。
